How to Make Frosting for Sugar Cookies

Ingredients

  • 1 stick Butter, at room temperature
  • 1 pound Powdered Sugar
  • 1/4 cup Milk
  • 1 teaspoon Pure Vanilla Extract
  • pinch of Kosher Salt

Directions

  1. In a large bowl or in the bowl of a stand mixer, beat the butter and powdered sugar until well-combined.
  2. Gradually add the milk, vanilla, and salt, and beat on high speed until smooth and fluffy.
  3. Stir the finished frosting a few times with a rubber spatula to get any large air bubbles out.

Notes

Cream or half and half may be substituted for the milk.
